Elba Island

At merely 10 km from the coast, surrounded by the Tyrrhenian Sea, there is the marvellous island of Elba, which together with Pianosa, Capraia, Gorgona, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri forms the national park of the Tuscan Archipelago. Its northern coast are washed by the Ligurian Sea, from east come the water streams of the gulf of Piombino, and to the south is the Tyrrhenian Sea. The look of the island is strongly variegated and divided into smaller zones depending on its conformation: boundless shores along the coast, with the inland area characterised by mountains with peaks reaching an altitude of 1.019 m above sea level. The island is famous for having hosted Napoleon Bonaparte during his exile, although its origins actually go much further back, dating back to the Etruscan and Roman civilization.

Elba is a dreamlike place where art and nature blend together, thus creating a very diverse reality where beach tourism intertwines with cultural tourism.

Many cultural activities such as visits of castles, towns and museums can be carried out on the island. But the offer does not leave out other recreational activities of the likes of hiking, mountain biking, swimming, scuba diving and beach sports.
